Young Volunteers Off to
Costa Rica
Teenagers from church
groups across Welwyn
Garden City, England,
will set off on a
voluntary expedition
next summer to work with
orphans in Central
America.
The young aid workers
will spend two weeks
volunteering their
services to the
Roblealton Children's
Centre in San José,
which houses 80 orphans
and runs activities for
more than 600 children.
The scheme, which is
organized by youth
worker Sara Taylor,
comprises of the group
decorating the orphanage
helping to make it a
brighter and happier
environment.
The volunteers will also
be organizing play
schemes and activities
for the children.
Sara said: "I am
convinced that this
mission trip will be a
life-changing experience
for these young people.
"They have the
opportunity to work
cross culturally and
selflessly give their
time and love to the
children of Costa Rica,
in turn cultivating
their personal gifts
while developing new
leadership skills."

Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant
Shapps, who is
supporting the project,
added: "This is an
extremely worthwhile
scheme which has a whole
range of benefits.
"Not only is it a
brilliant opportunity
for these teenagers to
experience a different
culture, but it is also
a chance for them to
give something to the
San Jose community,
benefiting hundreds of
children."
Volunteers are hoping to
raise funding for the
trip by organizing an
