Higher Gasoline Prices
In Effect Today
Costa Ricans woke up to
higher gasoline prices
this morning as the
latest round of price
increases took effect at
the stroke of midnight.
The Autoridad Reguladora
de los Servicios
Públicos (Aresep)
earlier this week
approved higher gasoline
prices due to rising
prices for crude oil on
international markets.
The price of a litre of
super gasoline jumped ¢5
colones, regular ¢8
colones, and diesel, ¢24
colones.
With the increases the
prices at the pump today
are: ¢548 colones per
litre for super, ¢535
for regular and ¢486 for
a litre of diesel.
Another round of price
increases could be
presented by the
Refinadora Costarricense
de Petroleo S.A. (RECOPE)
- the national oil
refiner and distributor
- as it presents its
monthly request to the
ARESEP the second Friday
of each month.
