The lines for the 40.000 cellular telephone lines that went on sale yesterday began early in the morning and reports say that by 11am most of the lines at the small and large shops were already taken up, selling like the proverbial hotcakes.

Recope Asks For More Gasoline Price Hikes
Notwithstanding a decision by the Sala Constitucional or Sala IV (Constitutional Court) that would end the automatic calculation of gasoline prices, that has temporarily stopped the approved increase on super gasoline prices that were to go into effec this week, the Refinadora Costarricense de Petróleo (Recope), has made a request to the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep), for an increase of ¢16 colones in the price of a litre of regular gasoline.
