Poisonous gas sickens 112 workers in Colombian
factory
At least 112 workers got sick Saturday after
inhaling a poisonous gas in a garment factory in
northwestern Colombia, local media reported.
Workers in the factory that makes garments for
export in La Estrella city started to get sick
early Saturday morning with symptoms of
dizziness, headache and vomiting.
A total of 112 workers were hospitalized and
there were no reports of deaths from the
accident.
Local media said the gas leaked into the factory
through ventilation pipes, but the type and
source of the gas remained unknown.
Most of the sick workers stayed in hospital for
further treatment, the report said.
