Another Gas Hike Approved
Gasoline
prices are taking another jump next week, as the
Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep),
yesterday approved a request by the Refinadora
Costarricense de Petróleo (Recope), for a ¢16
colones hike in the price of a litre of super
gasoline and ¢15 colones for diesel.
This is the 11th gasoline price hike this year.
The new price at the pumps will be ¢584 colones
per litre, up from the current ¢568, for super
and ¢390 up from the current ¢375.
The new prices will go in effect once it is
published in La Gaceta, the official government
publication of notices.
