Colombia seizes over 700 kg of
cocaine
The Colombian authorities on
Monday seized a total of 722 kg
of cocaine in two separate
operations, the country's
military and police spokesmen
said.
In the first operation, a
mountain army battalion seized
half a ton of cocaine in a
highway bus in the southwest
province of Cauca, and two men
were arrested in connection with
the smuggling, the regional
brigadier told the media in
Popayan, the capital of Cauca.
National Police seized another
222 kg of cocaine at a port in
the Caribbean island of San
Andres, aboard the Mr. Gody
motorboat, in which 232 kg of
the drug was found in a previous
search.
Police renewed their search of
the boat they had previously
seized, after an anonymous
tip-off said they had not found
all the cocaine aboard.
