Latin American Project for One Big Homeland
The Fifth Summit of the Bolivarian Alternative of the Americas (ALBA) fought for structural changes to put politics and economy at the service of the peoples.

A political declaration approved by members Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua said that project could be achieved at medium-term.

It reiterated the decision deepening the construction of ALBA as a strategic alliance aimed at producing changes in the region for equal development.

The document also included proposals in education, health, energy, communication, transportation, housing, highway administration and food, among other areas.

It also insists on increasing the Peoples Trade Treaty (TCP) with fair and well-balanced exchange and the construction of a common strategy for food security.

Since the triumph of the Cuban revolution ALBA is the first historical effort of building a Latin American project from a political favorable position, added the document.

The declaration ratifies that ALBA s guiding principle is the growing solidarity among the peoples without selfish nationalism or restrictive national policies that could deny the objective of building "one big homeland."
