Guatemala to Host Jose Marti Forum
Outstanding regional experts confirmed
attendance at the 5th Scientific Conference
entitled "Jose Marti and the 21st Century
Challenges for Central America and the
Caribbean," to begin on Monday, organizers said.
The event seeks to go in depth into Marti's
thinking, an endless source of experience, and
above all, of answers to many problems that our
countries face today, Organizing Committee
President Nancy Gonzalez Alvear told Prensa
Latina.
The conference will be dedicated to the 130th
anniversary of Marti's arrival in this country,
and will be sponsored by the Cuban embassy, the
Center for Studies on Marti, the Guatemalan
Journalist Association, and Rafael Landivar and
San Carlos universities.
Outstanding specialists from Barbados, Costa
Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Panama, Mexico, and the
host country will participate from June 11-14.
