Rica Downs Chile Ahead of Gold Cup
Costa
Rica stepped up their preparations for the
upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup with a 2-0 victory
over Chile on Saturday.
Hernan Medford's side dominated the opening
exchanges and were rewarded as Saprissa defender
Gabriel Badilla headed home a 30th minute corner
past Claudio Bravo.
Shortly before the break, Chile's Pablo
Contreras was dismissed.
Bryan Ruiz doubled the advantage for the Ticos a
minute before the hour mark after good work from
Harold Wallace.
Costa Rica have been drawn in Group A of the
Gold Cup, which takes place in the USA from June
6, alongside Canada, Haiti and Guadeloupe.
