Panama Hosts
Anti-Terror Workshop
Attorneys from Latin
America and Europe are
sharing their experience
on terror prevention at
a workshop sponsored by
the government of
Panama.
In his opening address,
Foreign Minister Samuel
Lewis Navarro noted the
fact that international
cooperation is key in
the anti-terror fight.
Panama is pro-tempore
chair of the
Inter-American
Anti-Terrorism Committee
of the Organization of
American States (OAS)
and its match at the UN
Security Council.
Lewis said it was
relevant for Panama to
inform officials on the
reach of controlling
terrorists with law
enforcement in
accordance with national
and international
regulations.
Among other guests to
the meeting are Attorney
General Mario Iguaran
(Colombia), Francisco
Dall Anese (Costa Rica),
Javier Zaragoza (Spain),
Fausto Zucarelli (Italy)
plus officials from
Argentina, the US,
Mexico, the UN and OAS. |
