$1 Million in Backpacks
Five Nicaraguans, who were apparently trying to enter Costa Rica illegally, exchanged shots with two Costa Rican policemen at the northern border, near Los Chiles, and then ran away, leaving behind four backpacks.

The Costa Rican law enforcement agents were surprised by the fact that the backpacks contained $1 million cash.

According to Costa Rican officials, the money is linked to the traffic of drugs and arms in the area.
