How Young Costa Ricans Used to Meet
In series called "retretas del Parque Central y las del Morazán", television channel seven - Teletica - recalls how the Parque Central and the Parque Morazán was the favourite place for couples to meet.

The story of yesteryears tells of how after church on Sunday morning, the young girls all made up would go to see the young boys in front the Catedral.

The "retratas" as they are known are very famous at a time when hundreds of couples met.

The tradition at the Parque Central included the stares and gazes between the young, who then could go to the Soda Palace (now Kentucky Fried Chicken) across the street to beging their courtship.

The times were even better when the Lubín Barahona would give a concert in the park.
