State Is Brains Behind
Bolivian Economy
Vice President of
Bolivia Alvaro Garcia
said on Thursday that
the State is the brains
behind the national
economy and public
policies to benefit the
entire Andean nation,
without exception.
In an international
seminar on investment
attended by business
people, legislators and
representatives of the
Council of the Americas
and other regional
bodies, Garcia explained
that Bolivia needs
foreign businesses that
respect the country's
law.
In this regard, he added
that since January 2006,
the country has new
leaders who are
promoting a profound
process of change after
500 years of
exploitation.
Now the once
marginalized minorities
do have a say in making
the most important
decisions regarding the
country's development,
he noted.
Garcia stressed that, as
a nation, the strategies
for distribution of the
country's riches will
never be back in the
market's hands. |
