Venezuela Develops Colombia
Border
Venezuela will foster a Project
of the Border Integration Zone (ZIF)
with Colombia, an initiative
involving the Venezuelan state
of Tachira with Colombian
northern department of Santander,
official sources said here
Friday.
Tachira Governor Ronald Blanco
La Cruz said the proposal
constitutes a fundamental
element for socio-economic
development of both countries.
According to the Bolivarian News
Agency (ABN) Blanco said ZIF
will open "new jobs and boost
development for small, medium
and big business and
industrialists in the zone."
Among the projects, there is the
widening of binational bridges
Simon Bolivar and Francisco de
Paula Santander.
Blanco also mentioned a proposal
for developing sugar cane, which
will involve between 100 and 150
enterprises from both countries.
