Colombia extradited 15
suspected drug dealers
to the United States on
Saturday, bringing to
167 the number of
Colombians extradited
abroad this year.
According to a police
statement, Saturday's
extradition was made
upon the request of the
United States, and the
extradited suspects will
be tried by U.S. courts.
The statement said that
the Colombian government
headed by President
Alvaro Uribe had
extradited a total of
619 Colombians mainly to
the United States from
August 2002 to this
June. Most of them were
suspects of drug dealers
and guerrilla leaders.
