Heavy Rain Lands Woman
In Creek
A 23 year old woman
identified only as
Sandra got the scare of
her life and was
seriously injured when
her vehicle left the
road and landed at the
bottom of the creek
known as "Los Negritos"
in San Pedro Montes de
Oca.
Firefighters and Red
Cross personnel worked
frantically to remove
the woman from the torn
wreckage as the water
levels began to rise,
fearing that the rushing
waters would take the
car and the women with
it.
The young woman was
finally removed from
wrecked vehicle and
taken to the Hospital
Calderón Guardia with
serious injuries to the
head and a fracture leg.
According to her own
testimony, the heavy
rain of yesterday
afternoon led to her
losing control of the
vehicle and ending up in
the creek, as like many
of the creeks and
ditches in the area do
not count with
guardrails or barriers
to prevent such
accidents. |
