Concludes Panama Visit
Salvadorian President
Elias Antonio Saca left
a calmer Panama City
Friday with his host,
Panamanian President
Martin Torrijos, to
inaugurate a hospital in
Chiriqui.
Saca, who arrived amid
protests for the murder
of a construction
worker, a teachers'
strike and a street
march in the city
center, had to change
the official program
several times.
After touring the
eastern province, Saca
will travel to tourist
Contadora island, where
he, his wife and
government officials
will conclude his visit
to this country.
In his first day he held
brief talks with
Torrijos, visited the
Canal locks and signed
several science,
academic, sports and
cultural cooperation
agreements.
In a joint release, both
leaders agreed to create
a Bi-national Commission
to strengthen bilateral
relations and reciprocal
cooperation.
