Earthquake Shakes Quepos
An early evening quake
rattled and shook the
area just outside of
Quepos, on the Central
Pacific, yesterday.
The 4.1 on the Richter
scale earthquake
originated 11 kilometres
northwest of Quepos at a
depth of 40 kilometres,
according to the
Obvservatorio
Vulcanológico y
Sismológico de Costa
Rica (Volcanological and
Seismological
Observatory of Costa
Rica) - OVSICORI.
The quake, shaking the
ground at 7:38 local
time, was reported felt
by residents of Palmital
de Pérez Zeledón,
Parrita, Puriscal and
the Central Valley.
