Lula Vows to Help
Nicaragua in Energy

announced in Managua his
country"s readiness to
contribute to solve the
energy crisis affecting
Nicaragua by funding
hydroelectric projects.
The Brazilian Government
is ready to discuss with
Nicaragua the funding
and participation by
businesses in the
construction of
hydroelectric power
plants, Lula told his
Nicaraguan peer, Daniel
Ortega, in official
talks on Wednesday.
Lula arrived in Managua
for a 24-hour visit, in
the third leg of a tour
also including Mexico,
Honduras, Jamaica and
Panama.
The presidents of Brazil
and Nicaragua are
expected to sign at
least twelve cooperation
agreements in different
fields, including
energy.
You can be certain than
Brazil can forge many
alliances with
Nicaragua, Lula told
Ortega after
highlighting the
long-standing friendly
links existing between
