Taxi Driver Asked To Drive Dead

department is the story
of how 82 year old Ángel
Marín Cascante who
suffered a heath attack
in the taxi that was
taking him to the
emergency room at the
Hospital San Rafael in
Alajuela.
Marín had boarded a taxi
in the area of Villa
Bonita, where he lived,
and asked the driver to
take him to hospital.
Claver Jiménez told
police that he saw
nothing strange about
the man so he accepted
the fare. However,
moments before the man
was to have gotten out
the taxi, parked in
front of the emergency
entrance, he suffered a
heart attack.
The commotion caught the
attention of medical
emergency staff that
could do nothing for the
man.
Police were called and
an investigative team of
the Organismo de
Investigación Judicial (OIJ)
made the call that the
man had died from
natural causes and such
decided they were in no
position to take the
body to the medical
forensic centre and left
him where he was.
The taxi driver was left
with no choice but to
drive the man, now dead,
on the orders of his
family to take the man
home in his taxi.
Jiménez said that,
during the difficult
experience, he had first
taught the man had
passed out. "I was
pretty scared because
this is the first time
something like this has
ever happened to me",
said Jiménez. |
