Argentina to Join UN Bodies
Argentina was elected to join several subsidiary organs of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York, official sources confirmed.

A Foreign Ministry's communiqué noted Argentina was chosen by popular acclaim to join the Commissions of Social Development, narcotics and that of Sustainable Development.

Those appointments joined those of Science and Technology for Development, between 2007 and 2010 and the UN Habitat Administration Council, last February 9.

In this way prevails the international community's recognition of the work developed by the Republic of Argentina in ECOSOC framework in compliance with the objectives stated by the United Nations Charter.
