PARLACEN Starts Sessions in
Panama
The Central American Parliament
(PARLACEN) started committee and
plenary sessions in Panama on
Monday, as part of efforts to
support regional integration.
In a meeting with PARLACEN board
of directors, President Martin
Torrijos reaffirmed his
governmentós commitment to
support work done by PARLACEN to
achieve unity in the area.
For his part, PARLACEN President
Ciro Cruz highlighted this
bright opportunity to meet in
Panama to seek a greater
PARLACEN presence in member
countries.
According to the agenda,
parliamentarians are expected to
meet with Panamanian First Vice
President and Foreign Minister
Samuel Lewis Navarro and with
Education Minister Miguel Angel
Canizales to discuss the
initiative to recognize academic
qualifications in all Central
America.
On Tuesday, the PARLACEN
committees and the Panamanian
House will gather in the
National Assembly and the Labor
Ministry..
Plenary sessions will start
Wednesday afternoon at the
Miraflores locks amphitheater.
Sessions are to close Friday
with a conference on Panama's
customs operation by Customs
Director General Daniel Delgado.
