Ecuador to Say Yes for Assembly
Less than twenty-four hours before the referendum, the Ecuadorian government showed optimism on Saturday with the population s support of a Constituent Assembly.

Minister Coordinator of Internal and External Security Fernando Bustamante emphasized that there is a reassuring tendency for a Yes to the Constituent Assembly.

Bustamante pointed out that all the Executive s polls show that the Yes vote will be the winner easily.

"The Executive has a reasonable and absolute certainty that the Yes vote will win," stressed the minister from Canton de Baños, Tungurahua province.

The last survey released on Friday evening revealed 66 percent of Ecuadorians will vote for the installation of a Constituent Assembly, while 15 percent will oppose the change proposal.

According to Cedatos polling firm, the Yes tendency could increase even more due to the strong campaign staged in support to the change, as well as the visits of President Rafael Correa to the country s provinces.

Governmental spokespersons said that over 50 Ecuadorian mayors have expressed their unconditional support for the president and announced they will vote in favor of the Constituent Assembly.
