Belize Demands PPP Attend to Challenges
Belize Prime Minister Said Musa, pro tem president of the Puebla-Panama Plan, called Tuesday for his fellow Heads of State to pay more attention to challenges faced in the area.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the PPP Summit, Musa said that the region cannot wait any longer for integration, as globalization forces everyone to be more competitive in all sectors.

Despite progress achieved in road connections, energy and telecommunications, there are still obstacles in assuming investment commitments needed to complete these works.

He stressed integration as the path for successful development.

Musa also said that challenges are greater in the social field to provide the region with better education and job opportunities leading to improved income levels.

He called on governments to take this opportunity of dialogue to reflect on what the region needs to coordinate and then jointly implement actions to address social backwardness.
