The “Consensus of Costa Rica”
President Oscar Arias will take
advantage of his attending the
United Nations Assembly General
to continue enlisting
international support for the
“Consensus of Costa Rica” is a
plan to promote changes in the
distribution of cooperation
throughout the world.
This is one of the issues that
Dr. Arias will discuss with
Javier Solana, high
representative of the European
Union for Foreign Policies and
Common Security.
Another issue to be discussed
with Solana is an eventual free
trade agreement between Central
America and the European Union.
On the other hand, the President
is to meet with the highest
authorities of Egypt and Jordan,
among others, as well as with UN
Secretary General Kofi Annan.
