Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador
to Launch Joint Stock Exchange
PANAMA CITY, Panama. Panama,
Costa Rica and El Salvador on
Monday signed an agreement to
open a regional stock exchange
in 2007.
The exchange, which will deal in
stocks and corporate debt, will
initially include the three
signatory countries, but other
nations in the region will be
invited to join it in the
future, said Dulcidio de la
Guardia, head of Panama's stock
exchange.
Rolando Duarte, president of the
Salvadoran exchange said the new
institution will help investors
in all three nations by
increasing liquidity between the
markets.
