Tourism among Bolivia´s Main
Sources of Income
Researchers meeting in this
capital said on Saturday that
tourism constitutes one of the
main sources of income for
Bolivia, after the gas and soy
bean exports.
Academician Jose Crespo said
that the State receives about
200 million dollars with the
annual visit of about 400,000
tourists.
In a lecture on culture and
folklore, Crespo also explained
that the tourism industry is
integral and multi sector.
However, he said that 2004
public and private investments
in that sector reported only
200,000 each one.
Crespo also noted that despite
the country´s social conflicts,
tourism has duplicated in the
last 15 years, when incomes
increased from 90 millions to
200 million dollars annually.
