Ecuador : Distributes Voting
Needs
Racing against the clock,
Ecuador s Supreme Electoral
Court (TSE) is delivering
ballots and voting booths to the
provinces of Guayas, Manabi,
Esmeralda and Pichincha on
Tuesday to guarantee the October
15 election.
With the collaboration of the
Armed Forces, TSE began to send
the electoral material to Costa
and Amazonia last week and is
now distributing them in the
territories of Sierra.
There will be two boxes in each
of the more than 36,000
nationwide voting centers.
The Ecuadorian elections will be
safeguarded by military and
police plus a 3,000-strong
contingent of observers from
Citizen Participation and the
Organization of American States.
On October 15, 9.1 million
voters should vote to elect the
president and vice president of
the South American nation, as
well as deputies, legislators to
the Andean Parliament, municipal
and provincial authorities.
