Gasoline Prices Drop At Midnight
Don't fill your cars tank today, because at the stroke of midnight the latest decrease in the price of gasoline takes effect.

The latest approval by the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) was published today in the official government publication, La Gaceta, and goes into effect at midnight.

The decrease will mean a drop of ¢14 colones for a litre of super gasoline and ¢16 colones for a litre of regular.

The continuing drop in the price of crude oil on international markets is the reason for the fifth consecutive drop in gasoline prices at the pumps this year.

According to the Refindora Costarricense de Petroleo (Recope), the lack of hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico and the higher that predicted inventories and an expected slowdown in the U.S. economy are influencing gasoline prices here.

Beginning at midnight, the price of a litre of super gasoline will be ¢499 (down from today's ¢513) and a litre of regular will cost ¢485 (down from today's ¢469).
