Legislator Should Give Up Immunity And Face Courts in Sexual Harassment Accusation
It's been more than two months since the case of sexual harassment against legislator, Federico Tinoco. Yesterday a legislative commission made its final report to the Legislative Assembly.

The legislative commission made up of three non-legislators found that there wasn't compelling proof of any wrongdoing on the part of the legislator, however, recommends that the legislator renounce his immunity and face a criminal court proceeding to clear any doubts.

The woman who accuses Tinoco said yesterday that she will take her case to the next level, file charges against the legislator. The woman's identity has been hidden to protect her and her family and has since been reinstated at her job in the Legislative Assembly building, however, working for another department than she was when she claims to have been sexually harassed.

The report was made public yesterday afternoon at 5:40pm, following hours of anticipation, as the report went behind closed doors to be studied by directors of the legislature before it was to be presented to the legislative floor.

Francisco Pacheco, president of the Legislative Assembly, said before the report was handed down that the contents of the report would be made public and nothing would be hidden, other than sensitive details that would be negative for the legislator and woman and their families.

Before the television cameras, Tinoco said he was pleased with the report which supports the innocence he has claimed all along.
