25%of Germans Not Interested in
World Cup:
With only 10 days before the
inaugural World Cup match
between hosts Germany and Costa
Rica, some 25 percent of Germans
expressed their lack of interest
in watching the upcoming 64-game
football tournament, according
to an opinion poll released by
the Hamburg-based BAT research
institute.
Among those questioned, some 34
percent of women and 21 percent
of men said they could care less
about the mega football event,
to be staged in 12 German cities
from June 9 through July 9.
A total of 2,000 people took
part in the survey.
In Costa Rica, it is entirely
another thing. It is almost
impossible to find someone who
is not planning to sit out the
game. In fact, the government is
giving public employees off the
morning of the opening game, and
just as many private sector
employees are expected to join
in.
The game time is at 10:00am
local time in Costa Rica.
