France-Cuba Senates Meet in
Havana
Bernard Piras, vice president of
the France-Cuba senatorial
friendship group, is in Havana,
invited by the Cuban parliament.
According to reports to Prensa
Latina on Sunday, the aim of the
visit is to develop and
strengthen relations with the
island"s authorities, and
facilitate exchange between both
countries.
"We have to make progress in
cultural, trade, economic and
political relations for a total
approach, and I think this
second visit to Cuba will be
very profitable," stated Piras.
The delegation will be in the
Caribbean nation until May 28,
and is due to meet with
officials from the Cuban
parliament, the Cuban Institute
of Friendship with the Peoples
and ministers from several State
organizations.
