Xenophobia
A day after the pro-immigrant
marches in several nations,
Guatemalan Foreign Minister
Jorge Briz is attending Tuesday
in Washington a Central American
meeting to find a way-out to the
undocumented people´s problem.
This is the fourth encounter of
regional foreign affairs
ministers since the US House of
Representatives passed a law to
criminalize immigrants, sanction
those who help them and build a
border wall to hold them back.
Delegates from Mexico,
Nicaragua, Honduras, El
Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama,
Belize, the Dominican Republic,
Colombia, Ecuador and Guatemala
are participating at the event
entitled "Seeking a Common
Position over US Migration
Reform."
Likewise, they are slated to
gather with senators and
representatives to attain an
integral solution that includes
regularization of the migration
situation of Latin Americans in
the US plus the creation of
temporary jobs.
