Man Shoots Wife Then Commits Suicide Over Jealous Rage
Jealousy seems to be the motive behind the tragedy of Canadian Gregory Charles Banks, who took his own life after shooting his wife, Telma Pinzón Chavarría, who was in critical condition in hospital, in Puerto Jiménez, Puntarenas.

The Oficina de Prensa del Ministerio de Seguridad Pública (Security Minister press office) said that the 65 year old man had been recently married and flew into a jealous rage during an argument with his wife.

Banks, who is from British Columbia, had been living in Costa Rica for eight years and was married to Pizón last year though they had been living together for three years.

Police say the couple had been drinking and around 2:30am an argument broke out in the garden of the local pizzeria.

Apparently, Banks had earlier found his wife being "affectionate" with another woman, who is known in the area to be a lesbian, in their apartment located next to the pizzeria.
