Guatemalan Hospitals on Strike
Four provincial Guatemalan hospitals joined the partial strike so far carried out in the capital's two main state hospitals, demanding medicines, equipment and medical goods.

Hospitals in Jalapa, Santa Rosa, Escuintla and Retalhuleu, the country's east and south, are only accepting emergencies and are waiting for other departments to join the movement in coming hours.

Authorities from the Health Ministry visited Roosevelt and San Juan de Dios hospitals, the largest in the country, and verified the absence of medicines and medical equipments, as well as the dreadful state of some facilities.
