Raul Castro Satisfied with Cuban Military Defense
Raul Castro, minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces said to be satisfied of Cuban defence capabilities, after supervising measures to apply the Cuban concept of All the People's War.

Cuban minister of defence congratulated the Central, Eastern and Western armies for their accomplishments. "We are also aware of what is still lacking", said Raul Castro.

He concluded a visit to zones of the central Villa Clara province, last military region visited in the area covered by the Central Army, where he resumed his impressions during the trip that took him throughout the island, says a note published by Granma daily on Saturday.

Raul Castro evaluated, together with other leaders and military chiefs the application of the Communist Party's Central Committee guidelines and indications of Fidel Castro made during the Strategic Exercise Bastion 2004, as well as the new tasks imposed by the complex international situation.

Cuba's goal of achieving military invulnerability was boosted after the increasing aggressiveness of the United States under the pretext of fighting terrorism.

We are going to keep on improving, strengthening our capabilities, said Raul Castro.

In the defensive tasks -he added- we don't work because of the greater or less imminence of threats, as military invulnerability is not something static, it requires constant development and improvement.

The enemy observes everything we do and each day we make it more difficult for them to achieve their goals with an armed aggression. As we get stronger, the possibility of an aggression moves farther away, he said.

It's the guarantee for peace, achieving victory without making our people engage in a war, he reflected.

Raul Castro insisted in reforestation to preserve the environment, in its economic meaning and the protection of forests in case of a military aggression.

As Raul Castro inaugurated a museum of engineering troops, he congratulated this corp for the work they carry out not only for the military but also in rescuing taks and the elimination of natural disaster consequences.

In the military industries he visited, the defence minister addressed chiefs, researchers and workers about productions destined to the military sector and industry as well as for meeting popular needs.
