Cuba Lashes Bush Discrimination
President George W. Bush has become Cubans living in the US in a special group out of the protection of the Constitution and laws, Cuban Parliament Speaker Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada asserted Monday. Documentary Criticizing US Cuba Sanctions Screened in Miami

"Bush and his Family Values" is the title of an article that Alarcon publishes in local Granma daily, where he analyses the annexation plan for the island announced by the US government in May 2004.

That report includes hard restrictions in visits, remittances and deliveries from that country to Cuba that seriously affect families.

From July 10, Cubans have to request and obtain a special permission to come to the island for only two weeks whenever three years have passed between one visit and the next.

The official affirmed that Bush redefined the concept of family reducing it to married couple, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren and excluding other relatives.

There is no other legislation regulating links of the remaining residents in North America with the nations from where they or their ascendants migrated.

In the 2006 report, Washington is pleased with the suffering it has caused and asserts that those measures have succeeded and it should continue implementing them more rigorously, and will create a special group for that aim.

Finally, Cuba´s National Assembly president noted that some years ago the US Supreme Court had recognized the right to travel to the Caribbean nation as a right of US citizens and now Bush is trying to criminalize it.
