Cuba for the Baseball Gold Medal
The Cuban baseball team will
compete for the gold medal at
the 20th Central American and
Caribbean Games on Sunday,
during a match with the
Dominican Republic"s baseball
team at the November 11 Stadium
in this Colombian city.
Cuban manager Rey Vicente
Anglada predicted that the match
could be opened with one of the
left hand pitchers, Adiel Palma
or Yulieski González.
On Saturday, the Cuban baseball
team defeated Mexico 7-5, with
decisive home runs of Alexander
Mayeta and Frederich Cepeda, who
broke the four runs tie in the
seventh inning.
The winner pitcher was Yunieski
Maya, who replaced the also left
hand pitcher Yadel Martí.
