Biotechnology Centre
The Government of Costa Rica and
the European Union entered a
cooperation agreement through
which the Central American
nation pledged the establishment
of the National Biotechnology
Innovation Centre (CENIBiot in
Spanish).
The EU will donate 11
million euros to that end, while
Costa Rica will spend another
2.5 million euros to the
project.
The general goal of the CENIBiot will be contributing to
the economic development of the
Costa Rican agricultural sector,
according to official sources.
