Nicaragua Right Augurs Unity for Elections
Nicaraguan Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) vice presidential candidate Jaime Morales Carazo predicted in this capital on Sunday the local right´s unity, as a result of the US pressures.

Daniel Ortega´s fellow party member told the local press that he has based hi prediction on the recent joint parliamentarian maneuver by the Liberal Constitutionalist Party (PLC) and the Nicaraguan Liberal Alliance (ALN).

There is nothing spontaneous or sudden in politics, everything is agreed, Morales Carazo asserted, in reference to the PLC-ALN joint vote to destroy the SAM-7 missiles in the Army´s possession, an action impugned by the FSLN.

The ALN, headed by presidential candidate Eduardo Montealegre, separated from the PLC, which is led by ex president, currently accused of corruption, Arnoldo Aleman.

The United States has announced its support to Montealegre´s candidacy, to the detriment of Jose Rizo, the presidential candidate for Arnoldo´s liberal followers.

Both candidates are accusing each other, and so far they seem to have irreconcilable differences, although they have publicly announced that they would support each other in a second round against Ortega.
