Colombia Legislative Vote May Be Annulled
The Colombian Inspector General´s office has demanded the annulment of the poll that elected the Senate for the second term of office of President Alvaro Uribe for fraudulent actions.

According to the Public Ministry, there were irregularities such replacement of ballots and manipulation of documents in the March 12 vote.

In parallel, the Prosecuror´s General office requested a new canvass with the exclusion of 6,500 voting tables.

Now, the 5th Section of the Council of State has six months to develop the process and ruled on it as the Constitution sets.

For those elections, 857 candidates were jockeying for 102 seats at the Senate and over 5,000 for 166 slots at the House of Representatives.

On July 20, Uribe and the Legislative power are slated to take office.
