CARICOM Okays Professional
Movement
Professors and nurses joined the
list of Caribbean professionals
allowed to live and work at any
of the CARICOM Unique Market
members.
The 27th CARICOM Summit in St.
Kitts and Nevis adds to the list
of categories artists,
musicians, university graduates,
athletes and journalists.
Barbados, Belize, Guyana,
Jamaica, Suriname and Trinidad
and Tobago joined Antigua and
Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St.
Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and
St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
In addition to services,
products and jobs the market
will add programs for least
developed members, namely the
industry and economic planning.
Since its inauguration, the
Market issued 3,500 free
circulation certificates among
member states.
Dominica Prime Minister
Roosevelt Skerrit said the
regional leadership is willing
to enhance the list as part of
the steps towards setting up the
Unique Market and Economy in
2008.
