Brazil seeks to strengthen
strategic association
relationship with China
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio
Lula da Silva told China's new
ambassador to Brazil on Thursday
that the two countries need to
develop and strengthen their
relationship, which he described
as a strategic bilateral
association.
Lula said at a public welcoming
ceremony for the new diplomat,
Chen Duqing, that the
Brazil-China relationship is
developing in an excellent way,
with both countries enjoying
understanding and good
collaboration in both bilateral
and multilateral arenas.
He highlighted the participation
of a Chinese company in
Brazilgas pipeline construction
work as an example of the
improving China-Brazil economic
and trade relationship, adding
that the areas of potential
collaboration are enormous.
Chen extended Lula warm regards
from Chinese President Hu Jintao,
and said that he would do his
utmost to contribute to the
growing relationship between the
two nations.
