Nicaraguan President Enrique
Bolaños was chosen the worst of
Central America after a poll
spread in this capital on
Wednesday, on the performance of
presidents of the isthmus and
the Dominican Republic.
According to the survey, half of
the Nicaraguan polled said
Bolaños had a bad performance.
Only 22 percent of those
surveyed supported the
performance of the Nicaraguan
president, who will give the
ceremonial sash to the winner of
the elections on November 5.
Gallup polls attributed that
negative opinion to those who
criticize Bolaños for not having
solved the main economic
problems of Nicaragua, which is
considered the poorest Latin
American country after Haiti.
The survey was taken during the
first six months of 2006, and
included 1,200 people in each
regional country, the pollster
said.
