Countdown to Illiteracy in Bolivia
The beginning of the end of illiteracy in Bolivia began Monday, in the wake of a Bolivia-Cuba meeting to review preparations for the literacy campaign.

The meeting at the Cuban ambassador's residence in La Paz was attended by Bolivian Vice President Alvaro Garcia Linera and other officials, as well as Cuban and Bolivian experts.

The government decision to carry out the campaign with Cuban advice and under the "Yes, I Can Do It" method, was ratified by Garcia Linera, who expressed appreciation for the Island's solidarity, especially in the fields of health and education.

He said that in wiping out illiteracy, Bolivia not only counts on Cuba's technical and logistic support, but also on its example.

The vice president conveyed a message from President Evo Morales acknowledging Cuban collaboration, as it contributes to strengthen the Bolivian people's commitment to achieve eradication of illiteracy.
