Rica
Foods Says in SEC probe
Rica Foods Inc., which owns
several chicken processing
plants throughout Costa Rica, on
Monday said the U.S. Securities
and Exchange Commission was
investigating some of its
transactions.
The company said it has been
conducting its own investigation
of transactions with Industrias
Avicolas Integrades, a
Nicaraguan poultry and animal
feed company, and its chief
executive Calixto Chaves.
The company said its annual
report will not be filed with
the SEC until the investigation
is complete.
