Bolivians for Unity and Change
A poll in Bolivia indicates
general support of unity and
social changes geared towards
the fight against poverty.
Erbol radio network forecasted a
future packed with challenges
for supporters of the changes
started with Evo Morales Dec 18,
2005 victory and his broad
national and international
support.
As turning point of the changes
inquirees list fuel
nationalization, that yields
greater state income, and the
Juancito Pinto student bonus of
25 dollars that benefits 1.2
million students.
They also laud cooperation with
Cuba and Venezuela that via
Operation Miracle provides free
health care and education.
Other high impact government
measures are fair and balanced
land distribution and the
international drive to
decriminalize coca leaves.
Bolivia is dealing with the
challenges of terminating
wide-spread poverty, creating
jobs, improving salaries and
redistributing wealth.
Those and other challenges
demand effective policies to
eliminate the old neoliberal
model of privatizations, labor
insecurity and widening gap
between the rich and the poor,
adds the inquiry.
