Colombian Guerillero in Costa
Rica Deported
Early this morning members of
the Fuerza Pública and officials
of the Ministerio de Seguridad
Pública quickly and quietly
moved former Colombian "guerillero",
Héctor Orlando Martínez Quinto,
to a small aircraft on the
tarmac of the Juan Santamaría
(San José) airport, for his
deportation from Costa Rica.
Martínez Quinto, 38 years of
age, is accude of being a member
of the Colombian rebel group
FARC and tied to the massacre of
May 2, 2002 in the Colombian
department of Chocó, where
rebels killed 100 people, among
them a dozen children, who where
hiding out in a Catholic church.
Costa Rican authorities took
Martínez Quinto by airplane to
an unspecified location where
they were to meet with Colombian
officials for the hand over of
the former guerillero.
