Honduras Cops on Take to be
Busted
The Supreme Audit Court (TSC)
will conduct an audit to find
out how many Honduran police are
linked to corruption or
organized crime, the newspaper
La Prensa reported.
The Security authorities have
formalized the request of the
state controlling authority for
the whole police corps to be the
object of this procedure.
"The request was made because
apparently there are agents with
low salaries that have goods
with unknown origins," TSC
director Moises Lopez reported.
There are cases of assigned
agents in La Mosquita that earn
an average monthly wage of 3,000
lempiras (us$165 dollars) and
have four houses and five cars,
according to the TSC.
