Ecuador, Colombia Bust Diplomacy
Ecuador continues its diplomatic
rupture with Colombia and warned
it would only reopen dialog when
the latter suspends glyphosate
fumigation of the northern
border.
Ecuador has requested the
intervention of the Organization
of American States in the affair
and invited two UN Human Rights
reps to visit the area to
corroborate the damage caused by
that toxin.
Local residents claim serious
health and crop damages.
Ecuadorian foreign minister
Francisco Carrion expressed
willingness for a meeting with
his Colombian homologue Maria
Consuelo Araujo, but only for a
joint analysis assessed by the
UN.
